According to phillyseaport.org,
Dive Into River Alive! An award-winning exhibition that brings the wildlife, science, and wonder of the Delaware River to life. Climb aboard the oldest floating steel warship in the world on Cruiser Olympia and submerge yourself aboard the World War II-era Submarine Becuna. Immerse yourself in special interactive exhibits while visiting one of the largest maritime art and artifact collections in North America. In warmer months, join us for a paddle in our boat basin or use your experience to get out onto the river with a kayak excursion. With so much to explore, Independence Seaport Museum is the premier, family-friendly destination on the Penn’s Landing waterfront.
This museum is so cool for little ones. Interactive exhibits, artifacts, giant boats, coloring activities, water play, science, theater and more !! Check out their website for upcoming events !!
The BEST PART is actually going onto the Cruiser Olympia !!!! Older children are allowed to also tour the Submarine Becuna (age 5 and up at the time of this writing).
parking is available to the left of the museum
**be ready to CLIMB if touring the ships outside. Stairs, ladders, ramps--wear comfy shoes and keep an eye on the little ones. There is a guided tour available and an unguided tour where you just follow the blue arrows --- many passages and exits are blocked off for safety or staff only but little ones might need some direction.
